Drill teams develop and personalize their own drill sequences. Our teams, often mixed male and female, compete every year in city and statewide competitions. There are two different types of drill routines that cadets are permitted to participate in— Regulation Platoon Drill (armed and unarmed) and Exhibition Drill (armed and unarmed).
Regulation Platoon Drill has a set sequence of movements that must be executed in a pre-determined step by step format. Exhibition Drill teams, however, put together their own drill routine for showmanship.
At our last drill competition (Alabama A&M), our teams placed 2nd in armed squad regulation, 2nd in armed inspection, 1st in unarmed squad inspection, 1st in armed platoon regulation, 1st in unarmed inspection, and 2nd overall.
